64. Headstand Pose - Salamba Sirsasana
Instructions:
1. Place a blanket
near the wall. Kneel down in front of a wall facing the wall.
2. Interlock your
fingers on the blanket and place your head in your palms.
3. Raise your knee
off the floor and take few steps towards your face.
4. Breathing in,
kick one leg up. You can ask one friend to hold your leg while you bring the
other leg up. Bring both legs to a vertical position towards the ceiling.
5. Remain in this
balanced position for 5 breathe in and breathe out.
6. Breathing out bring one leg down and then the other.
Benefits:This is called ‘king of asanans’ because of
its effect to whole body. It increases circulation of blood to the brain. It
cures sleeplessness, fatigue, asthma. Promotes hair growth.
Caution: Do not do Sirsasana if you have BP or neck
problem.
